Last train signalled through the signal box was an ordinary freight train on Friday 28th April 1972. The box closing signal for the day was sent to Chesterton Junction by the signalman at 1746 and the box then closed for ever. The levers are intact, but it would have been nice to get a shot of the block instruments. Looks like the plants need watering.
